Sentosa Island Island is full of fun for families

I first went to Sentosa Island in 2004 when there were still no Resorts World Sentosa and Universal Studios. In the past, one island had many attractions here and there and there were several artificial beaches. Until now, it's still so, just since there was Resorts World Sentosa, it seems that some areas on Sentosa Island have become much quieter because everything is stacked in RWS.

Anyway, here we want to tell you what's the excitement about Sentosa Island. Don't be confused if there are attractions that do not enter here because there are some tourist attractions that are indeed managed by RWS, it will be discussed in more detail in the post about Resorts World Sentosa.Siloso Beach.

What's on Sentosa Island?

There are so many activities carried out on Sentosa Island, even if you want to do everything, it will not be enough 1 day. So you should just be picky about what suits your interests and time. If you count it in total (with those in Resorts World Sentosa), there are currently around 31 tourist attractions. Some of them are paid, some are free.

For paid activities, you can buy package tickets. There is such a thing as a Day Fun Pass, which means that the ticket can be used for 1 day. There are 3 options:

  • Play Max (play 20 attractions) – adult $81.90 / child $71.90
  • Play up to 5 (play 5 of 20 attractions) – adults $59.90 / children $49.90
  • Play up to 3 (play 3 of 20 attractions) – adult $44.90 / child $39.90

Some of the exciting activities include:

  • Luge
  • Climb to the top of Merlion Sentosa
  • Segway
  • Tiger Sky Tower
  • 4D AdventureLand (there are 3 options)
  • S.E.A Aquarium
  • Trick Eye Museum
  • Madame Tussauds (counts 2 attractions)

In addition to the activities for which tickets can be purchased, there are still several activities whose tickets are sold separately, for example: iFly, Kidzania, Cable Car, MegaZip.

Free Things to do on Sentosa Island

Although many activities are paid, there are also many free activities in Sentosa. You can even visit and enjoy Sentosa Island for a full day without paying for tickets for tourist attractions – so many choices of tourist activities here.

Some free sightseeing activities to enjoy on Sentosa Island:

  • The photo in front of the Sentosa Merlion — to Sentosa Island is incomplete if you haven't taken a photo of the icon of Sentosa Island. The location is in Merlion Plaza, near Imbiah Station.
  • Play around in his 3 artificial beaches: Siloso Beach, Palawan Beach, Tanjong Beach.
  • Nature walk – take a boardwalk through the woods
  • Watch the Crane Dance at 8:00 p.m. at the Waterfront.

How to get around Sentosa Island

If you look at the map, you must be shocked at first because the Sentosa Island area is really big. You can be excited if you walk around the island. Fortunately, they have a free shuttle bus that travels around with visitors to one point to another. Anyway, just look for the bus stops at certain points and see where the route is going. In essence there are 3 different bus routes (green, red, orange colors) and 1 Beach Tram whose routes are along the coast.

In addition to the Sentosa Bus and Beach Tram, you can also take the Sentosa Express. This monorail is free, if only in the Sentosa area. But if you enter/leave the station at VivoCity, you will be charged $4 because that's the count for island admission using Sentosa Express.

One more thing, even though the line is only Merlion – Imbiah Lookout – Siloso Point, there is an exciting way to explore Sentosa Island, namely by taking a cable car. This path is new, in contrast to the path from Mount Faber – Harbourfront – Sentosa. But the price of a cable car ride is quite expensive too, $13 single pass or $23 for full-day unlimited rides.

How to get to Sentosa Island

To get to Sentosa Island can be several ways, ranging from the most expensive to the cheapest:

  • Cable Car Mount Faber Line — $29 adults / $18 children (included entry to Sentosa & Cable Car Museum). It's expensive but the most exciting, especially for those who bring children.
  • Take a taxi — in addition to paying for the taxi fare, there's a $2 / $5 car-admission rate depending on the hour.
  • Sentosa Express (monorail) from Sentosa Station on the 3rd floor of VivoCity — $4
  • Bus from VivoCity to Resorts World Sentosa — $2 (PP)
  • Walk through the Sentosa Boardwalk — FREE (he said there are plans to be charged a $1 admission fee, but it hasn't been implemented until now)

As for achieving VivoCity itself, there are several options:

  • If taking the MRT take the purple line (North East Line) or the yellow line (Circle Line) and stop at Harbourfront (NE1 / CC29).
  • If you take a bus, look for the numbers 10, 30, 30e, 57, 61, 65, 80, 97, 97e, 100, 131, 143, 145, 166, 855.

Travel To Singapore River

The history of the Lion City has a lot to do with the history of the Singapore River.

It was on the banks of this river that Sir Stamford Raffles—the founder of modern Singapore—first set foot on the island and became the place where prince Sang Nila Utama saw the mythical lion, which eventually became the name of the city.

During the colonial era, the Singapore River became a commercial hub, with dockers working along the dusty banks of the river, and small boats docked at its three docks.

Today, the Singapore River is a nightlife district and tourist hub, with bustling bars, eclectic eateries, and iconic clubs dotted across Robertson Quay, Boat Quay, and Clarke Quay.

Nightlife and cool hangouts

A favorite destination for internal travelers, cocktail connoisseurs, and local party hunters alike, the region boasts a bustling array of bars, pubs, and clubs.

Rock the stage at the Crazy Elephant live music show bar or experience childhood nostalgia at Level Up. With neon-themed decorations, Level Up has a concept that honors the golden days of arcade games.

For a world-class club experience, head to Zouk. This legendary nightclub has been accompanying party fans since three decades ago, has earned numerous awards, and played host to a string of internationally acclaimed DJs.

Alternatively, lovers of underground music and experimental songs can visit Headquarters, while those looking for great food, classic cocktails and a vibrant atmosphere can visit Barbary Coast, a gorgeous cocktail bar that houses three historic shophouses.

Riverside restaurants and culinary dishes from around the world

To broaden your culinary knowledge, follow the Singapore River and experience flavors from all over the world.

Take a dining adventure into the 19th century by visiting Barge River Boat Dining. The restaurant, which is steeped in experience, sits aboard the last barge (trading ship made of light wood) in Singapore, and specializes in western dishes.

Other dining locations along the river include My Little Spanish Place, which serve up a menu of tapas and classic European-style dishes, and Violet Oon Satay and Bar, which serves up a variety of locally inspired drinks.

Robertson Quay, which tends to be quieter than Clarke Quay and Boat Quay, hypnotizes its laid-back charm and houses a number of stunning dining venues, making this area the perfect spot for careful Food &drink enthusiasts. Devour tacos at the laid-back Mexican restaurant Super Loco, enjoy sukiyaki (charcoal grilled meat) at Shunjuu Izakaya and enjoy a Korean-style barbecue at Ju Shin Jung.

Europe's Energy Crisis Eiffel Tower Lights Will Be Turned Off Faster

Europe's Energy Crisis Eiffel Tower Lights Will Be Turned Off Faster

The Eiffel Tower is one of the tourist attractions in Paris, France, which seems to never be empty of tourists. Yes, not only during the day, the tower designed by Gustave Eiffel is actually also beautiful at night, because it is illuminated by lights that light up to the top of the tower.

Unfortunately, tourists who want to enjoy the beauty of the Eiffel Tower will have to return home sooner than usual, after Paris announced to turn off the lights on the tower early.

Reported by NDTV, the Eiffel Tower will be shutting down an hour earlier than usual to save energy this winter.
Local authorities will also lower water temperatures in public swimming pools, as well as delay warming on public buildings.
The water temperature in the pool will be lowered to 25 degrees Celsius, from 26 degrees Celsius. Heating in public buildings will be lowered to 18 degrees Celsius.

The move was taken on the instructions of French President Emmanuel Macron, who called on the industrial, household, and urban sectors to reduce their energy consumption by 19 percent. It was done as a result of cutting gas supplies by Russia, as well as rising electricity prices.

European countries agreed to reduce energy consumption to avoid a more serious impact, namely the possibility of a complete halt.

Although France is not directly affected by the cuts in gas supplies from Russia, compared to its neighboring countries, it is possible that a power outage could occur. Because, a number of nuclear reactors in the country were shut down to reduce energy scarcity.
As a result, France, which was previously an energy-exporting country, now has to import electricity supplies from other countries.

The Eiffel Tower Will Remain Radiant

Although it had to be turned off early, the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, said that the Eiffel Tower would still glow.
"France will always be the City of Light," he said.
Hidalgo said as of September 23, 2022, all lighting in Parisian public buildings will be turned off at 10:00 p.m. local time. Previously, the Eiffel Tower would usually be lit until 01:00 local time. As for, the lights at the top of the tower are on every hour.
If, the blackout of Paris buildings is carried out before 23:45 local time, it is estimated that Paris will save energy by 4 percent. Meanwhile, shutting down the Eiffel Tower early will certainly save even more energy.

The Beauty And Uniqueness Of The Eiffel Tower

The Beauty And Uniqueness Of The Eiffel Tower

EIFFEL TOWER – One of the icons that has become a tourist destination in the city of Paris is the Eiffel Tower. A tower that stands firmly looms into the sky. With a beautiful and charming design and beautiful scenery, making this tower has its own charm.

If you often see romantic movies set in Paris, there must be one romantic scene that takes place in the Eiffel Tower. Perhaps this tower does have its own charm for couples who want to make the moment of their visit to Paris more memorable.

Who among us doesn't know the Eiffel tower?

Of course we all know or even have aspirations to go and visit there.

The large number of visitors who come to the Eiffel tower makes this tower the most visited paid monument in the world.

The Eiffel tower has a total height of 325 m, which is the same as the conventional 81-story building.

After its completion in 1889, the Eiffel tower was the tallest building in the world, which record continued to be maintained until 1930.

The lights that adorn this tower are really beautiful and amazing, so the romantic impression becomes even thicker when night falls. In fact there are about 20,000 lamps with 5000 per side.

The rich artistic value of the tallest tower structure in France is amazing. Although it is visible to the naked eye, the shape is not attractive, but there is actually a deep artistic meaning. Namely, there is a calculation of the resistance of the tower so that it does not collapse due to wind blowing. So, that the shape and position of the tower are made in such a way.

The Eiffel Tower became a very famous tourist attraction in the world. Even this tower became one of the 7 wonders of the world. It is the tallest tower in France with a height of 320 meters. This tower building was the tallest building at the beginning, although there are now many tall buildings.
